One of Nelson Mandela's grandsons has appeared in a South African court after being charged with rape.
Mbuso Mandela appeared before a judge to apply for bail having been remanded in custody since his arrest.
The 24-year-old is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl and was charged with the offence earlier this week .
Members of the Mandela family were in the cramped courtroom in Johannesburg as Mbuso Mandela appeared in court for the second time over the allegation.
According to South African law, due to the seriousness of the charge, his defence lawyers will have to present evidence to support Mbuso Mandela's release on bail.
Mbuso Mandela has been in police custody since his arrest on Saturday.
A judge will now decide whether to grant bail ahead of any trial.
Police said the alleged rape took place at a restaurant in Greenside, a Johannesburg suburb, on Friday, August 7.
