Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii and is the current President of USA. He is the 44th President of USA, and also the premiere African American to occupy this office. Obama graduated from the Harvard Law School and Columbia University. He served as the president of the Harvard Law Review and has also worked as a community organizer within Chicago prior to getting his degree in law. He served as a civil rights attorney and has tutored students in constitutional law at the University Of Chicago Law School for a period from 1992 to 2004.
Barack Obama has had an illustrious career before becoming the President of the United States of America. He represented the 13th District of Illinois from 1997 to 2004 for three terms. He ran for the United States House of Representatives during the year 2000, but was not successful. Obama got national attention while campaigning for Illinois in 2004 for the United States Senate and due to his victory within the March Democratic Party. Some other important events to draw attention to Obama were his magnetic address to the Democratic National Convention held in July, as well as his election to the Senate in November.
Barack Obama was elected as president of United States in January 20, 2009. Nine months after his election, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He was re-elected to presidency in November 2012, and was again sworn in for a second term on January 20, 2013. Barack Obama tackled domestic policies concerned to gun control during this term and demanded complete equality for LGBT American citizens, filed briefs asking Supreme Court to abolish the Defence of Marriage Act. He has also termed the California’s Proposition 8 as unconstitutional. Obama has continued his policy of stopping U.S. combat operations within Afghanistan.
Barack Obama is left-handed, likes playing basketball and has participated in many of his high school’s basketball team. He has quoted that Hawaii provided him an opportunity to experience an array of cultures accompanied by mutual respect for one another. This went on to become an integral aspect of his personality and world view as a whole and laid the foundation for the values that he holds most dear. Obama was called “Barry” in his friends’ and family circle. Apart from native English, Barack Obama can also speak in basic Indonesian that he learned in his childhood years spent in Jakarta.
Recently, though it appears that President Barack Obama exceeded his limits and went a little far while celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Allegedly, he agreed to participate in a beer drinking contest to test who can consume the maximum beer. As per observers, Obama consumed almost 4 mugs of beer and passed out. Obama was rushed to the nearby hospital quickly and was immediately treated. It is reported that was drained of all the alcohol. However, many are puzzled about why he would ever want do anything like this. Media is avoiding giving this story more publicity to preserve his reputation.
