The World Cup has just changed out of all recognition for Luis Suarez following his surgery for a knee injury.

Uruguay v Jordan - FIFA World Cup Qualifiers
I had that injury myself while I was at Aston Villa. I’ve had that same keyhole surgery and it takes four to six weeks to fully recover.
With less than three weeks to go to the World Cup in Brazil, it would take a miracle recovery for him to start the tournament. Even if he makes it for the later stages, assuming Uruguay get through, his training will have been limited and he won’t have had any match practice for a good few weeks.
So, even if he becomes available, will he be up to speed? It’s a big question.
It is a great shame for Luis personally and it’s a great shame for the tournament. Before the news of his injury, I had him down as the World Cup’s top scorer. At that time, I didn’t want to say it because he was in the same group as England but I couldn’t see anybody better.
I send him my best wishes, as I’m sure everybody in football does.
what do think?
