Nicki Minaj Sets Two Female Rap Records With New Singles

After watching her debut LP ‘Pink Friday’ shift a sweet 1 million units in its first month of release, Nicki Minaj swings back onto iTunes with her third studio release,’The Pink Print’ ,this year,led by the so-so selling ‘Pills n Potions.’

However, this cut finds itself overshadowed by two new releases launched by the rapper. The first, being ‘Bang Bang‘ and the second being ‘Anaconda’, both of which helping her set a sizzling new chart record.

Despite being used to promote Jessie J‘s third studio album, the single ‘Bang Bang’ sees all three of its contributors (Ariana Grande, Nicki and J herself) stand as lead acts on the fiery bop.

So, once its follow-up ‘Anaconda’ reached #1 on iTunes as it sat at #2, Nicki became the first female rapper to have two of her singles placed at #1 and #2 on the digital tally, extending her lead as the most commercially successful Femcee of all time.

At the same time, ‘Anaconda’s rise to the top made Minaj the first female rapper to top the chart with a solo single, surpassing efforts made by each and every female rapper to impact the tally hours after its release!
