Louis Tomlinson's homeless dad in 'suicide bid' after family row

Louis Tomlinson's estranged father Troy Austin attempted suicide before being arrested for drink driving and later pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen, according to a report.
The 46-year-old, who hasn't spoken to his One Direction star son in three years, is said to have been found by police on Tuesday night trying to gas himself in a friend's car.
Police searched his vehicle and found empty tins before asking him to provide a breath test.
He refused and was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving before being taken to a police station in Doncaster, reports The Sun.

Troy Austin
Yesterday morning Troy appeared at Doncaster Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen and admitted he was probably over the limit.
Prosecutor Joanne Lewis-Crookes told The Sun: "This is an unfortunate set of events. The police were called in this case due to concerns about Mr Austin.
"He had been reported as a missing person and there were real concerns about his mental state and well-being.
"It is suspected he went off, having borrowed a friend's car, to kill himself."
She added: “He did not give a breath test and was arrested for failing to provide a specimen. He was taken to a local police station, but was trying to hurt himself. He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries caused.”
While Ross Wagstaff, defending, said he had argued with his brother Dene Flanagan over a hotel they jointly own in the lead up to his arrest and was in no frame of mind at the police station to give a specimen.
“There’s a lot of background to this case. The root of it is a fall-out with a family member which had financial implications on a business they had together and circumstances which have led him to being homeless today. He has no fixed abode. That has been the case for a period of time," he said.
